Wife has one, had to finagle seat out of strap. First time I took it off I undid the screw holding strap down, DON'T, pain in the rear to get it back on.

Besides removing one side of the passenger strap, the seat should be able to be squeezed under and through the strap. Take your time moving the seat side to side, gentley pressing down on the rear portion of the seat while pulling in through all at the same time.

I tossed the strap immediately.

I would rather have my wife hold me than that strap; it's just not safe IMHO.
And I swap out a Mustang Vintage Wide once in while, a snap without a strap.

Be careful...some states require that strap by law.
Check into it....
