I don't mind, and constantly see other bikes with a backrest in place, even though you might not be two up all the time. I'm ordering my setup in a few weeks and going with the solid mount. I originally made that decision cause it was cheaper than detachable, both in rail cost, plus not having to relocate the turn sigs. Being on a budget, solid seemed the way to go.
