Riser and Speedo Housing
I was at FT. Worth Harley the other day and noticed a new 09 Super Glide sitting on the showroom floor. I noticed that the Dealer had installed the crome riser and speedo housing from a new Sportster 883 Custom. IMO it looked ten times better than the Super Glide Speedo housing on the handlebar.
My question is in order to convert my bike to this setup, do I have to also changeout the speedo wiring harness to a sportster speed wiring house? The dealer stated that I would need to do this. The cost of the new wiring harness is $81.00. I'm thinking the dealer is just looking for an extra sale. |

Re: Riser and Speedo Housing
Is the plug different on the sporty speedo? and you will also hve to cosider the length of the harness.some of the harness lengths are just long enough to do the job and putting on a riser may require the extra length.

Re: Riser and Speedo Housing
I will be reusing the factory speedo from the Super Glide. Not sure about the length though.
