Question Help - Shifter not centering

I have '05 Super Glide. On my last ride I noticed that the shift lever won't center or "spring back". I have dealer installed forward controls and have disconnected the rod that connects to the foot pedal and the pedal moves freely. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Help - Shifter not centering

Happened to me on my 07 FatBoy found the linkage ( Heim joints ) corroded up. Pulled the rod and worked them free and no more issue.

More than likely the shifter shaft needs to be greased.

This will give you an idea what I am referring to.
