I went ahead and replaced my bolts with new grade 8s but i wont use red lock tight in aluminum, i only use the blue medium. Have had the red pull the threads out on aluminum.

Re: Rear sprocket bolts.

My 03 Touring SM says for the rear wheel sprocket bolts 55-65 ft/lbs-- 75-88Nm.I don't know if the sprokets would be torqued on any tighter for different models. I wouldn't use red locktite on aluminum either.

Can you please contact me with your referances? I was riding on Saterday and ALL the bolts holding my sprocket on sheared off, (EDIT) near causing my to go down as the back wheel locked up and just about shooting a hole in the head of my friend who was riding behind me.

HD will do NOTHING! And when I called corropoate and asked to speak with a manager I was told NO.

This bike has 3900 miles on it!

Thanks!
