Re: Checking TSM/TSSM Trouble Codes
Glider:
I recently bought a salvaged 07 1200 Custom Sporster. I send it to a shop directly to fix the sheet metal towed. When I went to the shop to start it up (I got the key but no FOB) it won't fire. I read several post by you and tried to bring up the 5 digit security code, but it didn't work. Which will be the best procedure to follow: a) Buy FOB and marry it to the TSSM. If so, how do I do it? Does it needs to be done by a dealer?. b) Can the system be overriden, I mean, can the dealer dissable the alarm at all? c)Does changing the TSSM with a TSM can eliminate the alarm or even so, it has to be reprogrammed by a dealer? d)Is there any way I can fire it up without the Fob, to see if the motor is running properly (remember it was a salvaged bike). I'm sorry for the long post, but I'm desperate, I bought the bike 2 months ago and haven't been able to ride it. Please help. Thanks |

Re: Checking TSM/TSSM Trouble Codes
So, just changing the TSSM for a TSM should solve the problem, without dealer intervention? I'll explain why. I live in Guatemala, all bikes sold here doesn't have a security system, so the mechanic at the dealer is not familiar with them. I brought the bike from the US and he just told me the problem of the bike not starting is the TSSM, but nothing else. I read your post on getting the pin No. (since I don't know what the pin is) but it didn't work. After pressing the left turn signal twice and the right once, no code appeared on the odometer. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks again for the help. |

Marrying New TSSM To Bike - Harley Davidson Community As far as the PIN (Personal Identification Number) you have to use the ignition switch also and it has to be done exactly as it is posted or it will not work. Try it again as it is posted and don't waste any time between steps. Programming / Using Manual Security Code (both FOB's) - Harley Davidson Community |

Re: Checking TSM/TSSM Trouble Codes
I went out and pulled my pin # and the procedure will only work if you have the FOB present. When I moved my FOB out of range and tried it just triggered the security system. Witch is good you don't anybody to be able to walk up to your bike pull you pin and ride away with it.
