Thumbs up Re: Post Your Classic

This is my 1976 FLH. Originally a Police bike for the city of Lynn, Ma. I rode it many thousands of miles before retiring it for a newer unit. 74" (+.040) and a four speed trans. Good scooter!

This is my grandfather on his 1913 H-D model 35. Picture was taken in approx. 1914.

Here's my 1961 FL with a '66 shovel top end. I've had her for 15 years now.

Re: Post Your Classic

WOW! All the bikes pictured so far are just awesome....I have always loved the look of the vintage bikes!

The oldest bike in my little collection is an '86.....just doesn't quite count as vintage yet!

I'd love to have one of those old Glides for a Sunday afternoon little spin round town! It would be like going back in time!

Re: Post Your Classic

This is my '68 Shovelhead. I call it "Hardtime" because it has a rigid hardtail frame, and I bought it at a prison, where it's previous owner was doing hardtime for having a meth lab in his barn. The sheriff confiscated everything the guy had, and put it all in the yard where he could see it from his cell and lament his wicked ways. It had sat outside for over a year, so I did a ground up rebuild. The hardest part was figureing out what year/model each part was to get the correct replacement part/kit. From what we researched, it has parts from 1950 (frame) to 1984 (rear caliper). It runs good, but being kick only and rigid, it's limited to short trips, that's all my old back can handle.
