A Friendly Reminder

The (EDITED) change in a post has been showing up in a lot of posts lately on HD Talking.

There's been a lot of the newer members (and a few older ones too) using language that is not permitted at all on the forum.
The >>at all<< part is self explanatory and should need no further clarification for anyone, nor will it be done any longer. (See the NOTICE at the bottom of this post)

PLEASE don't try to further your position by stating that a search has revealed other questionable posts in the past as some members have been doing to justify the use of language in your posts.
We spend much more time than necessary clarifying this topic for a few that is really not needed when it's clearly stated above.( >>at all<< )

Further posting here in this thread or in PM's for the discussion of "language use'' for reasons of clarification by the offending members in regards to language that is "allowed" or "should be allowed" etc. on the forum will result in the removal of your membership from the forum with no further discussion.
Let's not push or test this issue any longer !

We come here to discuss Harleys and not to correct the juvenile language used by some members or to offer "reasons" for not using language on the forum.

It gets very time consuming to edit out the language and notify the member that no language of any kind as well as abbreviations for the same or even substitution of characters or symbols to arrive at the same will be allowed on the forum as well as in videos too.

It also gets very time consuming for the moderators to reply to PM's from the offending member that tries to justify the use of their language or asks for an explanation as to "WHY" some words are not allowed etc. and that will definitely not be tolerated any longer.

Give it some thought before doing this.

Your cooperation with this would be very much appreciated to save the staff here a lot of time. We really don't wish to see HD Talking go the way some other forums have gone.

Thanks

FINAL NOTICE:

There have been a few members that have contacted me via PM to ask "what language IS allowed on the forum"? This was after I notified them to read the above post and furnished a link to the same when they have posted offensive words in their posts that were edited.
At this point I really can't believe that anyone that can survive in the world can't understand the meaning of what
( >>at all<< ) means in reference to "NO LANGUAGE AT ALL".

I'll Take this one step further for those members that feel compelled to ask this question in the future even after reading this post. After this when a member sends a PM to ask "what language IS allowed" on the forum or something similar in meaning, they will be removed from the members list immediately without a reply.

I don't care to have any more of my time wasted or the other moderators time wasted by some that seem to have an agenda here in their endeavor to act childish on the forum by posting language and those that don't have the mental capacity to figure out
what the words ( >>at all<< ) means in reference to language use.

If in doubt, leave the word out even in the simplest forms of profanity!
NO "workarounds" either.
As only a few examples of this that have been edited (Damn, hell, crap, crappy, sucks, A$$ ,LMAO, LMFAO,WTF, PITA, BS etc ,etc and also the **** or %#@&$ or even S_ _ _ s in place of the words is included here as a means of self editing and bypassing the sensors) Also it may be pointed out that words like "idiot", "bimbo" and this type of defamatory language will probably result in an extended vacation if not removal from the forum especially when used against another member.

I think you can get the picture here without a complete list of all the words and abbreviations of them that are not allowed on the forum.

Enough said here and enough of the moderators time wasted dealing with this issue.

ALSO, removing the ("EDIT")
from your post that was placed there by a moderator will get you an extended vacation from the forum. This only makes double the work for the moderators dealing with some members.

Glad to see that language will be and is being monitored. Thanks for the heads-up and for keeping the forum on track.

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Guilty...I realy wasn't aware that mildly profane words as a means of giving emphasis were not permitted but after Glider has personaly taken time out to explain to me the reason for editing my particular post I can see the logic behind the forums ruling, we can all have a laugh and joke without using profanity or colloquialisms so let's help the mod's do what they do best, helping us...and not having to waste their own valuable time correcting posts!...

Some people realize this and others don't .
We just lost a new member today that insisted that he couldn't express himself without using profanity.

I guess some people are mature enough to comprehend this and others aren't.

Thanks for understanding.

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Makes me wonder how the politics forum lasted as long as it did!

Re: A Friendly Reminder

A good reminder, (been guilty myself), and now I know about the abreviations too!
Another reason this site is such a stand out, and a valuable tool when needed. Not all the bantering that other forums have.

I think I'll stay a while longer...........

I'm glad you're gonna stay around with us here.

In the past the bantering on this site had taken over the threads and there was more bantering than there was info being exchanged between members. We don't have that problem now and things are running very well.

Thanks to all the members.
