Fisher

I'll lay it out for you like I do for others that post "colorful" language. I have corrected a few of your posts due to the choice of language you choose to use. Although it wasn't as "colorful" as some others, it was still against the rules of the forum as you well know after posting in this thread.

Just for the record, I'm sure you have seen this but here it is again.

There's been a lot of the newer members (and a few older ones too) using language that is not permitted at all on the forum.

The (EDITED) change in a post has been showing up on a lot of posts lately on the forum.

It gets very time consuming to edit out the language and notify the member that no language of any kind as well as abbreviations for the same or even substitution of characters or symbols to arrive at the same will be allowed on the forum.

Your cooperation with this would be very much appreciated to save the staff here a lot of time. We really don't wish to see HD Talking go the way some other forums have gone.

You asked to have your membership revoked once before citing my distaste for some dealers business policies and I told you that it wasn't necessary and that it was my opinion which I am entitled to even if it bothers you. It has been expressed as an opinion and no language was used to do so either.

If you still feel that you would like your membership on the forum revoked or closed, I'll oblige you being you are so unhappy here and seem to have a problem with our rules.
Just let me know. I grow tired of explaining the rules to every keyboard commando that happens along and I feel that the forum would be a better place without that type of person in any event.
There are many other forums that condone the use of language and carrying on that some try here without much success.

Let me know!
However your statement above "I'll continue to do as I wish." pretty much tells the outcome here.

No disrespect intended, but IMO I think it is more about respect not censorship. This great country gives us all the right to say, think, or print what we like. Thats one of the many freedoms our military have fought and died for. That being said there IS a time and a place for everything.

I would not tollerate certain language in my house and around my wife. I am not a prude by anyones standards but what I see and read on this forum comes into my house. My wife reads with me sometimes.

This has to be the best forum I have ever joined. The only flaming is done in good taste and good humor. And I think as a whole we respect each other as brothers and sisters.

Thanks to Glider and the other Mods we can keep it that way. Nuff said.

Respects...Joe

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Thanks Joe, It's truly appreciated that the work here does make a difference. I couldn't agree with you more about what you posted too. A time and place for everything and this isn't the place for vulgar things to be posted.

The forum is only as good as it's members and staff and we do have an excellent staff here as well as great members and we would like to keep it that way.

Re: A Friendly Reminder

This what its about i mean im possibly the worst offender when around my Friends and collegues but here i cap it as i know that riders with families will read this together or show sons/daughters/grand kids what dad or mom do or just look at the pics and the last thing that is needed is more, and more over im admin on another site and have to monitor that and the language over there is tolerated more but it is kept under control just like here.
Thanks to everyone who appreciates what has been done here and the work that is done to keep it this way, a site is nothing without its member base
ride safe ride free and enjoy the site

Re: A Friendly Reminder

I have only one short thing to add to my original post a few pages back. I realize I am new here but the main reason I joined this site instead of others was because of the friendly and respectful atmosphere I observed. People who choose to use profanity tell me I am infringing on their "right" to speak as they wish. It's a free country yadda yadda yadda. Don't get me wrong, I can swear with the best of them. I just choose to do it at the appropriate time; like hitting my thumb with a hammer or discovering the inlaws are spending Christmas at my house.
Do these people ever think they are infringing on my "right" to exist in an atmosphere that doesn't contain language that is offensive to most of the population? After all, it is a free country.........

Once again........great site, great people. Just don't get tired of the the stupid questions I will be asking. It's been 25 years and boy have bikes changed.

Can't tell you how many times I have seen that in PM to me.

How about our rights not to hear it?

Thanks gasbag
