Thanks jdaws, just goes to show that it can be done with a little work.

The only ones that objected to the lack of vulgarity have moved on.

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Thanks again for the good work.
I fail to see the attraction of foul language and offensive behaviour on some forums, most of the members practicing it wouldn't have the guts to behave like that to someone's face anyway and are cowardly hiding behind their anonymity.
I also wouldn't enjoy their company on line or in life unlike that of the members here.
Long live to HDTalking

In this thread: http://www.hdtalking.com/touring_mod...html#post91073 the edited word was that place down below, you know where the devil resides. I really don't see that as profanity in the way it was used.

THAT SAID, it's your place and I'll abide by your rules.

.

There's no reason that anyone cannot express themselves without using objectionable words which are against the rules of the forum.

Here's the part that will answer your post as stated in the first post of this thread...

"There's been a lot of the newer members (and a few older ones too) using language that is not permitted at all on the forum.

The (EDITED) change in a post has been showing up on a lot of posts lately on the forum".

Also this part in the rules of the forum.

No Offensive Posts, Links or Images
Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.

If that doesn't do it for you, then take a look here...

No more questions, please. - Harley Davidson Community

Thanks for the understanding.

By your reasoning then we would have to have a list of "approved" vulgarities and as anyone knows that list would be tested and retested until the member gets removed to end it.

When you posted, you could have chosen a word that was not in the grey area and thus this discussion would never have happened. It's that simple!

Re: A Friendly Reminder

When I first read A Friendly Reminder I never imagined it would become one of the largest, most contentious threads on the forum,to me it was pretty straight forward,Listen to the rules or go on vacation or POOF. Just my two cents worth

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Bill

You are absolutely correct in stating that it isn't worth all this attention and if you look back through this thread there were a few previous members that just couldn't see it that way.

A new phrase I just learned today is "Deja Moo" and I think it pretty much sums this up.

Lets just sum it up and say that..
"There's been a lot of the newer members (and a few older ones too) using language that is not permitted >>at all<< on the forum." (regardless of the context it was used) The >>at all<< part is self explanatory and should need no further clarification to anyone.

I think this about sums it up here and no further discussion is needed on this topic.
