I would NEVER try to get anything past the mainframe. I've seen the size of that helmet!

Re: A Friendly Reminder

If you've been to other sites that DO NOT monitor their members, it gets ridiculous when reading the profanity in the posts. I have been guilty also and respect Glider's rules. This site is my learning tool as I bought my first Harley last year. I plan on obeying the rules and learning from the best. No need to express yourself with bad words. Thanks Glider and keep up the good work. I hope to be around for a while so I hope the site stays up and running. By obeying the rules, I'm sure it will.

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Hi Glider,

Just wanted to add my two cents as well.

I am relatively new to the world of computers and initially I thought this site was a little up-tight with regard to editing some of the comments.

I have since had a chance to explore some of the other sites and am not real impressed with the colorful language that seems to permeate those places.

Dont get me wrong, I have been know to use the odd cuss word myself now and then but some of the other sites are a little over the top and quite frankly annoying to read after a while.

I now understand and appreciate why you do what you do.

Keep up the good work!

Re: A Friendly Reminder

Thanks FLH

I , like you was a part of another site when it was a nice place to visit. After a while the moderator that was in charge left and another one took over and allowed his buddies to rule the place and they finally turned it into the cesspool that is it now with the filthy language and just plain rude behavior and trash talk exhibited by the members.

When I saw the way it was headed, I distanced myself from that site and I had put a lot of time and work in there before this happened which at that point was a total waste due to the membership that was joining to "have it out " with each other on the 'net.

I think this type of behavior is not only juvenile but shows a lack of respect for each other when they post like that thinking that it makes them a BIG person. It seems that one starts and then the other have to try to top him and after a while, it becomes absolutely ridiculous when they can't post without using vulgarity.

I'm sure that most of us here can keep up with the best of them but there's a time and place for it. HD Talking isn't the place and we appreciate the understanding that the members here have about this and the fact that we have ZERO tolerance for it on the forum.
We wish to keep the forum free of ALL language from the simpliest to the most complex of the words.

Thanks for the understanding.

Much appreciated!

Re: A Friendly Reminder

It is refreshing to hear people talk in a professional manor. There is a time and a place to talk junk. Thanks for keeping it clean.
