Have you ever surfed the net and got a pop up telling you to scan your computer? DO NOT DO THE SCAN. Instead close the window and start fresh. I got the same thing and had to close all my browser windows and log back on to the sight to get in. As stated by UglyJohn above, free virus protection is available, but be very careful where you get it. I myself use McAfee as a matter of preference. Legitimate software vendors do not invade your privacy by bombarding you with annoying pop ups and such other methods. A router is also an excellent hardware firewall, but you still need to run software viruys protection in the event you download an infected virus. I'm no expert on bikes, but I can help you all day long with a computer. Les |

Re: Attack Sites
Good to know Les, we have a "go to" man now here.
![]() I've also seen those "scan now" pop ups and never cared to test them out figuring what you had stated above about them.

First, the Mozilla Firefox Browser is much more secure than Internet Explorer and offers a number of great security add-ons. The browser and add-ons are all free. Google it. Most virri and malware is written to exploit the security "holes" in Internet Explorer. Second, an excellent free program for malware scanning and removal is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Also 100% free and works fast and efficiently. Since Les mentioned the AV360 virus, I can tell you that I've used the Malwarebytes program to help some friends who were infected with the AV360 recently, at no charge, of course (unless you count a few cold ones as a "charge" ) and it worked perfectly. Last, (although I'm barely scratching the surface on this subject) another program which is great for removing and avoiding "spyware" is Spybot Search and Destroy. Also 100% free. Google it. Specific anti-virus programs are numerous and it's a matter of personal preference so I won't go there. To Glider and the other Mods: If you feel that my comment is beyond the scope and/or intent of the forum, by all means, remove it. I'm just trying to help. ![]() Ride safe, Jammr

Jammr
Thanks for that info and it's nice to see our members helping members here on the forum. It's also nice to have a few "go to" guys here that can help out with any problems that pop up. Thanks for that!

Re: Attack Sites
Ditto Jammr, those are all great programs out there. Malwarebytes is my favorite.
Saved me a few times.
