I can measure and show the bike does run a bit cooler idle and running down the road. What I can not measure is the stronger throttle responce I seem to be getting and the slightly faster starts.
I start my bike in the garage a lot I have notice a slighty fuel smell when I start it now that was not there befor. It is not much but is there.
It's all relative in this respect Smitty. More fuel in will cool things off over the lean and hot factory settings. If you install a SERT, you can vary the VE (volumetric efficiency) and cylinder trim to get both plugs looking the same but it requires a bit of work/time/money to get things right. Faster starts are a result of more fuel over the lean settings too. Not at all uncommon to get the fuel smell when a cold start is made. The fuel tables in the ECM richen the mixture on FI bikes to get it running and when you add more fuel regardless of the method (except the SERT which allows for cold start fuel adjustments) you quite often end up with more fuel than needed and the reason for the smell.
My last bike I had the stage 2 download from the dealer which some refer to as a race download. That bike had cams and FI and ran like the devil was chasing it but when started cold, it was very rich and stunk. Had a SERT been installed, this could be programmed out. Everything is relative is what I am trying to say here.
