Re: Xied's installed hers some word on them

First I would like to say that unless your racing the bike I would rather see a TFI than a pc. The pc takes some work to get right thats just my view.
As for the Xieds and 02IED's.
They go between the o2 senor and ecm. The o2 senor works in a closed loop to 4000 rpms. The voltage from the 02 senor tells the ecm to keep the fuel to air mix at 14:7.1.
That is very lean to meet EPA rules.
The 02IED basicly tells a lie to the ecm causing the air to fuel mix to become 14:2.1 slightly better. The XIED causes a change to 13:8.1 even better.
These are not a replacement for a good fuel manager on a bike that has been moded out. This is were it gets tricky and the arguements will start.
If you do a stage one and have the download done the Xieds should help.
If all you do is pipes the Xied's will help
If all you do is Air filter the Xieds will help.
If you do a stage one or more and have a good fuel manager Xied's should not needed.
Now that all said it is aginst the law for dealer or indys to change the air to fuel mix to exceed EPA rules, some do it anyway. Fuel mangaers can work with Xieds if they are feeding a lean mix.
Gilder knows more about TFI than I do talk with him a bit you may find that taking the pc off and going with a TFI may help alot. from what I have seen riders have a lot better luck with the TFI. The PC work well but seems to require a lot of dyno time and work to get they bike were you want to go with it. TFI cost less also
I do not think the Xieds would do anything for you.
some dyno time with a skilled tuner could get the bike in line with the power you need and improver fuel mileage. There is always a trade off power virues fuel milage
