OK i just looked at the HD website the 883 still has the Peanut tank unless its the custom where as the 1200 has the custom tank ful stop unless its the nightster.
The tank will fit straight on, once fittedd you will also need to check clearances with the bar to make sure the controls do not touch the tank as it is wider
You will also need the seat from the custom as the area where the tank meets the seat is a different shape and the peanut tank seats do not fit, i tried when in the dealer an was buying my 883c i wanted the solo seat but nope the 883 one would not go on.
